Jammu and Kashmir News: The deadly attack on former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah is being discussed nationwide. The issue was also raised in the Rajya Sabha. Following the incident, Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with him over the phone. Police have detained the person who opened fire. Speaking about the incident, the former Chief Minister said, "As I was leaving the venue, I heard the sound of firecrackers. I was immediately put in a car, and later I was told that a man with a pistol fired two shots."

He further stated, "I neither know this man (the accused) nor do I have any information about him. I don't know his motive. The question is, the wedding was attended by all the prominent people and there was no police presence." He further stated that he had never wronged anyone in his life, so it's difficult to understand why the accused targeted him. He also praised his personal security officer (PSO), saying that his timely action saved his life.

Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was attending a wedding in Jammu, where he was fired upon. Fortunately, he survived the attack repeatedly. Following the attack, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah posted on Twitter that his father had narrowly escaped the attack. A video of the attack also surfaced.

The attacker has been identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal. He arrived at the event armed with a gun. He opened fire as soon as he saw the opportunity. However, security personnel present immediately apprehended him and beat him severely. He was then handed over to the police. (ANI)
